A large country garden
We felt privileged to work in this lovely mature country garden on the Kent/Sussex borders. The garden was already well established, and our work involved various different projects around the grounds - some adding new features and some restoring existing ones. The photos below show some of the work,
The project included:
Restoring a formal pond - re-laying the surrounding sandstone and adding a filtration system
Constructing a patio area overlooking the pond
Walling, path edging and steps constructed using local Sussex sandstone
Paving and steps using reclaimed yorkstone
Re-laying all pathways around the garden - setting in steel edgings and surfacing with golden gravel
New planting around the garden
Constructing a vegetable garden with raised beds using sleepers and estate fencing to enclose the area
Re-surfacing the main driveway with golden gravel.
We re-laid a lot of the stone walling around the pond, and constructed the new patio area. We also built the stone retaining wall behind the patio and the steps and path leading down to it.
We restored many of the existing pathways and created some new ones. Paths were edged with steel path edgings or with sandstone walling/edging. Paths were surfaced with golden stone chippings

We constructed new steps using reclaimed yorkstone
We also restored the rose garden, planting four yew trees (above left), resurfaced the main driveway (above right) and built a new vegetable garden using estate fencing and sleeper raised beds (below)
